Esports is no longer just entertainment for young Malaysians — it has grown into a serious betting industry with international prize pools running into the billions of MYR. In Malaysia itself, MPL Malaysia and FFML have built a loyal fanbase and active community, with many now leveraging their esports knowledge to bet smarter at livesport888.
What sets livesport888 from most other betting platforms is the depth of its esports coverage. Rather than offering just one or two basic markets, players can bet on dozens of different markets within a single MLBB match – from the overall winner to first blood, total lords secured within a given period, and individual map winners.
This matters a great deal, because players who truly understand a particular game can use their technical knowledge to place value bets that the average bettor simply can't. If you know that an MLBB team tends to play slow and dominate in late-game scenarios, you can use that insight in the Over/Under kills market or match duration market at livesport888.
Exclusive 50% Esports Bonus up to RM150 available now livesport888 is also one of the most rewarding in the Malaysian market. Unlike other platforms that offer generic bonuses usable anywhere, this esports bonus is built for players who are serious about esports – with a reasonable 8x rollover requirement and no restrictions on specific game titles.
Malaysian players betting on MLBB MPL Malaysia at livesport888 also enjoy an extra edge – they watch matches involving local teams they know, players they follow on social media, and playstyles they have been analyzing for years. That local knowledge is an invaluable asset in esports betting.
Check each team's recent performance record before betting — MPL Malaysia regularly produces major upsets where lower-ranked teams take down the favourites. Teams like Todak and RSG MY often outperform expectations when playing in front of a home crowd. Use that knowledge to find value in the odds livesport888 offers on map handicap markets.
If you're new to esports betting, you might be wondering what the difference is between the various market types available at livesport888. Here is a straightforward breakdown of the most popular markets.
Match Winner / Series Winner is the most straightforward market — simply pick the team you think will win the overall match. For Bo3 (best of 3) format matches, you are selecting the team that wins 2 maps first. At livesport888, this market is available across all esports titles.
Map Handicap is a market that gives one team an advantage or handicap in the map count. For example, if the MLBB odds show Team SMG -1.5 maps, SMG must win 2-0 for your bet to win. Conversely, Geek Fam +1.5 means you win as long as Geek Fam takes at least one map.
First Blood is a popular market in MLBB and Dota 2 at livesport888 — you predict which team will secure the first kill of the match. It's a fast-settling market, usually decided within minutes of the match getting underway.
Over/Under for kills or rounds lets you predict whether the actual total will go over or under the set line. It's a great way to leverage your knowledge of a team's playstyle — aggressive teams tend to rack up higher kill counts.
For more experienced bettors, livesport888 also offers in-play markets such as "Who will slay Roshan next?" in Dota 2, or "Which team will secure the next Lord?" in MLBB — markets that can only be truly understood and capitalised on by players who genuinely know the mechanics of the game.
While a strong knowledge of esports gives you an edge in making better decisions, factors such as technical issues, player injuries or off-form performances, and spontaneous tactical calls during a match can all lead to unexpected outcomes. Always set appropriate betting limits and never wager more than you can afford to lose on livesport888.
